East Pasture Loop area starting at Black Mtn Mid Station and skiing counter clockwise around
East Pasture Loop ending at Windy Hill B&B. This course is over difficult terrain and is not suitable for beginner skiers. At this time (Feb 28th) there are rocks showing on the Bald Land Trail with new snow (at least 2") on top of the base. Grooming will commence on Friday for the race. Weather predictions indicate additional accumulation prior to race. The course starts uphill on the Sugarbush alpine slope (about 200' start), turns east (right) onto the Sugarbush XC trail, takes a left on the Windy Hill Trail and immediately turns right onto the Bald Land Trail crossing the East Pasture Trail. The course continues out the Bald Land Trail, meets and continues on rolling terrain on the Woodland Trail continuing a long climb to the East Pasture Trail. After passing the Black Mtn Cabin Trail, the East Pasture Trail descends steeply. The course takes a right back onto the Bald Land Trail connection to the Windy Hill Trail, turns left to the Sugarbush Trail, turns right towards Windy Hill Fields, crosses the East Pasture Trail continuing on the Windy Hill Trail. At the Windy Hill Fields, the course turns left and continues clockwise around the field. The finish is at the Windy Hill B&B.AWARDS LOCATION: Jackson Ski Touring Center at 2 p.m.
