50th Anniversary Capital Campaign
Capital Campaign Update, March 2023. For the last year Jackson Ski Touring Foundation has been raising funds in a Capital Campaign. We started with a goal of $1.5 million and we have raised over $1.1 million in donations and pledges in amounts large and small. From 6-figure contributions to the sales of donated items in the ongoing ski swap (yes, even the $1 Dollar Hats counted!) we are getting close; and there are donors who are eager to help us wrap this up with “milestone contributions” so that we don’t lose momentum. You can help by making a contribution; when you purchase your season pass for next season please consider clicking on the contribution link and helping JacksonXC cross the finish line of this exciting Campaign. Thank you!
Since 1972, Jackson Ski Touring Foundation has set the standard of excellence for groomed cross-country centers locally and nationwide, serving for 50 years as a beacon of community-supported cross-country skiing. Our unwavering focus continues to be the commitment to community leadership, free services to youth, economic sustainability, land stewardships, groomed snow conditions, and trail improvement and development. These areas comprise our core mission as a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) foundation as we celebrate 50 years of bringing affordable skiing joy to thousands of people from all walks of life.
For our 50th Anniversary we have embarked on a Capital Campaign to strengthen our financial resources so we can consistently offer the finest possible experience to all our guests and contribute to the economic vibrance of our local community. Our goal is $1.5 million.
The JacksonXC 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign has four main objectives.
• Addressing the Impact of Climate Change. Inevitable periods of low snow require that we take steps to address the changing climate including a judicious plan for snowmaking in some form in certain areas of our network.
• Implementing Trail Enhancements. Our goal is to improve trail connections between the village and the notches and between certain other network trails. For our skiers, these changes will provide more enjoyable “loop routes” and provide better skiing alternatives to and from the village area. For operations, these changes will improve grooming efficiency by reducing the cost of groomer transport and on-trail travel.
• Developing Transportation Solutions. We have a current need for better access points that draw people out of the village to our unique elevations which sometimes offer better ski conditions.
• Diversifying Our Market. We must grow our skier visits to strengthen our long-term well-being by bringing more newcomers to the sport.
