I already know how to ski, why should I take a lesson?

Ski instruction at JacksonXC takes many forms.  We adjust the learning to you and your interests, and in most cases lessons are “just you” or “just your own group.”  Your instructor will ask you what you want to learn, encourage you to share the ways you learn.

If your lesson is one-on-one you will get 100% of the instructor’s attention; there are also benefits of taking a lesson with friends and/or family members.

If you are able to take part in multi-session clinics these are very powerful programs for improving your technique, and they are good fun because you meet others with similar abilities and interests.  You learn from the instructor’s attention to you; and you also learn by observing how others interpret the instruction.

Don’t look at ski instruction as an admission of a “lacking,” instead think of ski instruction as an opportunity to focus on making a good thing better and opening the gateways to new trails. It’s like a spa-day for your skiing soul, someone will focus on YOU and help you be the best you can be.

The best thing an instructor can hear is, “wow, that made a big difference in my skiing,” and they work hard to do that for everyone they ski with.
